Position Overview

 

Hexion is seeking an innovative AI and Communications Specialist to drive the adoption and application of emerging technologies and deliver compelling, accessible IT content that supports our global digital transformation. 

 

This is a dynamic role within the Information Technology department, contributing to Hexion’s overall Artificial Intelligence strategy and adoption while also ensuring quality and timely IT communications. The position is highly visible and offers collaboration opportunities with various functions within the company.

 

The ideal candidate will be instrumental in enhancing technology adoption with a strong focus on AI. Responsibilities include identifying generative AI use cases, introducing new AI capabilities to the company, and championing the broader adoption of AI and emerging technologies. Developing IT communications and user-friendly training materials on key technological tools and ensuring those communications are socialized with the overall organization is an essential part of this role. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be an effective communicator with strong proficiency in generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.). This individual should also understand various tools for AI content creation such as VideoScribe and Canva. Additionally, the candidate will monitor and analyze how associates are adopting and using these tools, providing feedback and insights to continuously improve user engagement.

Job Responsibilities

 

AI Specialist

  • Stays up to date on the latest generative AI technologies and releases, sharing highlights within the overall Hexion organization.
  • Works with business and IT leadership to identify AI use cases, launch pilots, and monitor effectiveness.
  • Champions the use of AI within the Hexion workplace.


IT Communications & Training Content Development

  • Develops and presents engaging technology training materials for technical and non-technical employees globally.
  • Creates highly visual and intuitive PowerPoint presentations for training, tips/tricks, and internal IT communications.
  • Produces and publishes short training videos using VideoScribe and Canva to support technology adoption.
  • Writes and edits clear, concise, and engaging IT communications (emails, newsletters, FAQs, and user guides).
  • Publishes articles and content on associate portal to support IT initiatives.
  • Designs quick reference guides, infographics, and other visual aids to simplify complex IT concepts.
  • Key contributor to the development of ideas and content for the global IT All-hands meetings.


SharePoint & Digital Content Management

  • Owns and manages IT content on department hub site of associate portal, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of IT training materials.
  • Administers key IT Teams sites and SharePoint Online pages, optimizing structure and usability.
  • Regularly updates and maintains IT policies, procedures, and governance documentation within SharePoint.


Training & Change Adoption

  • Delivers remote and in-person training sessions on IT tools and AI best practices.
  • Provides hands-on guidance to associates, ensuring smooth adoption of new technologies.
  • Collaborates with HR and Internal Communications to align messaging and training with company-wide initiatives.
  • Monitors adoption and usage to keep a pulse on how associates are adopting and using the tools to help identify areas where additional support or training may be needed.

Qualifications

 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills (written and spoken).
  • Experience creating clear and concise documentation, training materials, and video content.
  • Experience with conversational AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with AI model customization and/or custom GPT or agents is required.
  • Proficiency with SharePoint Online for content creation and publishing.
  • Strong acumen with Microsoft 365 (Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with VideoScribe and Canva for content creation.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Degree in Communications, IT, or a related field (2-year minimum, 4-year preferred).
