Position Overview
An exciting opportunity to take direct ownership of a CEO priority and deliver step-change results across the business. As the AI leader you will operate at the center of Hexion’s transformation agenda, challenging leaders, holding teams accountable, and building agents at speed and scale to replace and augment process. The ideal candidate has been leading as an AI leader in their role today and can prescriptively lay out an accelerated AI strategy for Hexion.

To transform our business by utilizing AI as a strategic differentiator internally in Hexion with reimagined processes ground up across functions
Key Responsibilities
Vision & Alignment
- Develop, communicate and deliver a clear Agentic AI transformation vision tailored to Hexion’s business model and processes, with a focus on functional process automation (agentic, LLM)
- Secure executive sponsorship (CEO, CFO, CHRO, COO) and align AI goals with corporate strategy and financial outcomes, driving this as a CEO level priority and initiative across Hexion.
- Lay foundation, governance, and quick wins for AI Agents in Hexion
- Scale across functions, integrate with systems, and report measurable ROI.
- Institutionalize AI agents, drive cultural adoption, and unlock enterprise-wide impact.
Tiger Team Setup 
- Form a cross-functional AI Tiger Team with embedded “champions” from HR, Finance, Procurement, Operations, IT, Supply chain and develop process guidance in each area/function for opportunities with AI
- Lead discussions, drive working sessions, and process mapping with a goal of redefining to be processes around AI leverage.
- Every major function has production-grade AI agents running critical workflows.
- Expand from “assistant” use cases to decision-support and autonomous orchestration (e.g., AI coordinating production scheduling with procurement in real time).
- Define success metrics per function (e.g., cycle-time reduction in procurement, cost savings in energy use, faster HR onboarding).
Governance & Infrastructure 
- Establish AI governance framework (ethics, compliance with chemical industry regulations, data privacy).
- Partner with IT to set up Agentic AI infrastructure (secure data layer, orchestration platform for agents, API connectors to ERP, MES, HRIS, etc.).
- Partner with HR, L&D to roll out a structured AI literacy and training program across functions.
- Standardize a catalog of reusable agents that functions can adapt, as well as AI subscriptions, licenses used actively across functions solving business process and automation.
- Establish/expand our AI Hub within Hexion, anchored by the tiger team, to serve as an orchestrator across all our agents, as well as develop into a hub for experimentation and best practice sharing
- Implement a continuous audit framework to ensure AI systems remain compliant, ethical, and aligned with chemical industry standards
Quick-Win Pilots, and Process Redesign with Agents. Re-engineer 3–4 critical workflows per function using AI agents such as  
- Finance: automated reconciliations, forecasting assistant, AI-driven working capital optimization
- HR: an AI agent for onboarding & policy Q&A, talent retention and workforce planning agents
- Procurement: supplier bid comparison & compliance checking.
- Operations: AI-driven predictive maintenance agents, Camera based alerts, Twin Thread based anomaly detection and golden batch agents.
- EHS (Environment, Health, Safety): safety incident analysis & reporting agent.
- Operations: closed-loop process optimization (autonomous AI adjusting chemical production parameters)
- Supply Chain: autonomous demand-supply balancing 
Long-Term Impact Measurement: By 12 months, aim to deliver measurable business impact:
- Cost savings of 3–5% of OPEX via AI-driven efficiencies.
- Cycle-time reduction of 20–30% in procurement and finance workflows.
- Improved predictive accuracy in operations leading to fewer unplanned shutdowns
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in IT, engineering, or digital transformation roles; 5+ years leading data-driven or AI initiatives.
- Proven track record of implementing AI or automation solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
