Position Overview

Internship opportunities with Hexion are designed to provide students with a challenging and meaningful experience. This role offers a unique hybrid learning experience that combines Corporate FP&A, internal management reporting, and external reporting exposure — providing broad insight into Hexion’s financial processes. Interns will gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects, develop professional skills, and interact with senior Finance leadership, culminating in an end-of-summer presentation of their accomplishments and learnings to a diverse group of leaders. 

Job Responsibilities

 
 
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of monthly internal management reporting packages 
  • Perform variance analysis of monthly Corporate spend 
  • Support quarterly financial statement submissions to banks 
  • Assist with research and resolution of technical accounting issues 
  • Assist with government economic reporting requirements 
  • Work on a special project spanning the duration of the internship 
  • Collaborate with other interns across departments on cross-functional projects 
  • Gain exposure to Hexion’s finance tools, including SAP, Power BI, Blackline, and Workiva 

Minimum Qualifications

 
 
  • Current Junior or Senior in an undergraduate degree program in Finance or Accounting 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 
  • Strong Excel skills preferred 
  • Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and independence skills 
  • High attention to detail and accountability for deliverables 
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership of tasks 

 

Education 

 

  • High School Diploma required
