About the Program

 

At Hexion, our interns are more than students — they are valued team members. As an FP&A Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience in corporate finance while working on projects that have real business impact. You’ll receive mentorship from finance leaders, participate in professional development sessions, and present your project outcomes to senior leadership at the end of the program. 

This internship is designed to give you exposure to financial planning, forecasting, analysis, and decision support, preparing you for potential future opportunities at Hexion.

Key Responsibilities

 

As an FP&A Intern, you will: 

 

  • Support the monthly forecast and annual budget process, including variance analysis and management reporting. 
  • Assist with financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business decision-making. 
  • Prepare and analyze KPI dashboards and performance metrics across business units. 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain) to understand financial impacts of business activities. 
  • Develop presentations and reporting materials for senior finance leadership. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in financial reporting and planning processes. 

Who You Are

 
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Analytics. 
  • Strong academic performance (GPA ≥ 3.0 preferred). 
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; exposure to tools such as Power BI, SAP, or Hyperion a plus. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Collaborative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Prior internship, co-op, or project work in Finance or Accounting. 
  • Familiarity with financial statements and basic corporate finance concepts. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver on deadlines.
