Position Overview
Deliver best-in-class global planning capabilities that drive service reliability, working capital efficiency, and operational agility across Hexion’s global network. The Global Planning Manager leads the strategy, tools, and processes that connect demand, supply, and production into a seamless, predictable value stream anchored in data, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement.
This role is pivotal to enabling Hexion’s enterprise goals for profitable growth, customer satisfaction, and supply chain resilience through rigorous planning and alignment.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Optimization (30%):
Contribute to and execute the global planning strategy to align with corporate goals and regional business units.
Build resilience into the planning process through advanced analytics, scenario modeling, and risk management frameworks.
Operational Execution & Performance (25%):
Oversee global production planning and materials coordination to maintain optimal service levels and inventory turns.
Leverage ERP/MRP systems and digital planning tools to drive end-to-end visibility and control.
Establish and monitor KPIs (e.g., OTIF, forecast accuracy, inventory health) and implement continuous improvement programs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%):
Partner with manufacturing, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure demand-supply balance and seamless order fulfillment.
Drive effective communication between global and regional teams to manage capacity, constraints, and priorities.
Serve as the global liaison for corporate planning initiatives, integrating new technologies and best practices.
Leadership & Talent Development (15%):
Lead, coach, and develop regional planning managers and analysts to build a strong global planning community.
Foster a high-performance, data-driven culture with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving.
Champion diversity, inclusion, and capability-building across the global supply chain network.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement (10%):
Lead the adoption of digital planning tools (AI/ML-based forecasting, automation, advanced analytics).
Identify and implement best-in-class supply chain planning practices
Sponsor and sustain initiatives that enhance agility, reduce waste, and strengthen customer responsiveness
Qualifications and Experience
Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Experience (KSAEs)
Knowledge and Skills
Deep understanding of end-to-end supply chain planning processes (demand, supply, production, and inventory management).Strong command of S&OP/IBP methodologies and global planning frameworks. Expert knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced planning tools (e.g., Kinaxis, SAP IBP, o9).Knowledge of chemical manufacturing operations, batch production, and material flow complexities. Familiarity with Lean principles, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies. Understanding of global logistics networks, trade compliance, and cross-border planning requirements.
