Position Overview
This position will be responsible for planning and execution of high value tasks to advance Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety programs globally. This Center of Excellence Leader will act as a technical expert by providing specific guidance on Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety matters across the globe and businesses. This position collaborates closely with manufacturing organization, the EHS organization, the Product Stewardship team and customers to manage and execute programs and projects while providing support in a manner that addresses business needs.
This role will be responsible for the industrial hygiene programming and training for the sites with key products and hazards.
This role is eligible for remote work in the United States
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, track, and evaluate Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety metrics to identify trends and drive improvement
- Evaluate exposure scenarios to ensure key health and safety risks are identified
- Be the subject matter expert for key programs such as phenol and formaldehyde safety
- Lead specialized programs to support implementation of the Global Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety strategy
- Develop and support Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety compliance and EHS Management Standards relating to health and safety
- Provide Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety technical support and program oversight
- Develop understanding of industry best-practices and emerging trends in Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene and safety programs and leverage, as appropriate, to continually improve Company programs and standards
- Establish routine communications to key regional EHS leaders to help understand the current Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety issues impacting the organziaiton
- Collaborate with Product Stewardship and Sustainabilty team to review hazard, exposure, and risk information to further regulatory compliance and product sustainability objectives
- Assist technical and customer service teams to address occupational health or industrial hygiene questions or concerns from customers or other downstream users of Company products
- Support company well-being initiatives, including mental health and physical health programs
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master's of Science degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health or other technically related field required
- Certified Industrial Hygienist or Certified Safety Professional preferred
- 10 or more years of experience as an occupational health or Industrial Hygiene professional in a manufacturing/industrial environment or supporting an industrial environment
- Demonstrated working knowledge of of Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and safety standards and regulations in multiple jurusdictions
- Capable of conducting and overseeing Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene field work including qualitative risk assessments, development of exposure monitoring strategies, and quantitative monitoring
- Knowledge of global regulatory framework and specific knowledge and experience implementing programs
- Good organizational, communication, and networking skills
- Working knowledge of EHS/IH data management programs
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and self-directed at times
- Ability to be a resourceful, self-starter
- Proven ability to influence without direct authority
