Position Overview

 

Hexion Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Industrial Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team. The Industrial Cloud Platform Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions for our manufacturing operations. As a global leader in specialty chemicals, we are dedicated to driving innovation and digital transformation in the manufacturing industry.

Job Responsibilities

 
  • Develop and implement cloud-based solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and operations.
  • Design and maintain IIoT infrastructure, including connectivity, security, and data management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence in manufacturing processes.
  • Drive the adoption of digital technologies to optimize production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
  • Manage the integration of manufacturing equipment and systems with cloud platforms.
  • Manage projects related to the integration of smart manufacturing systems and IoT devices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to manufacturing systems and IoT devices.
  • Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the security and reliability of cloud-based systems and data.
  • Provide training and support to employees on new technologies and processes.
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices in industrial cloud technology.

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in developing and managing cloud-based solutions for industrial applications such as TwinThread, Aveva Insight, or Cognite Data Fusion.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with manufacturing systems such as Wonderware Historian, Aveva MES, and OSI-PI. 
  • Knowledge of Industrial protocols and technologies such as OPC, RSLinx, and SuiteLink.
  • Knowledge of IoT protocols and technologies such as MQTT, CoAP, and LoRaWAN
  • Familiar with Industrial Control Systems such as Rockwell Automation, Aveva/Wonderware, and Emerson DeltaV.
  • Good programming skills in languages such as SQL, C#, and Python
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and systems integration.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
