Position Overview
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the total manufacturing operations of the Sheboygan, WI site which consists of thirty personnel. Leads and directs all activities associated with the production effort including environmental, safety and health assurance, recruiting/training/development of operation personnel, directing the production workforce, maintaining inventories of raw materials, and finished goods, and optimization of process efficiencies. Implements Company policy, safety, environmental and quality programs, and employee relations policy. Coordinates efforts between production areas and other business functions and represents Sheboygan manufacturing in the North Region. Effectively leads the site and its people in alignment with overall business goals. Champions site Productivity projects that drive cost and variability reduction.
Job Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities – Environmental, Health, and Safety
• Partner with Environmental SME to ensure site compliance with all safety, health and environmental laws, codes, and standards.
• Responsible for driving safety culture at the site
• Provides leadership to the site and its personnel to drive continuou8s EHS improvement; demonstrates high visibility on the production floor driving improvements and accountability.
• Work with EH&S staff, develops and implements programs, processes, and procedures to ensure the safety and health of all associates working at the site. Ensures site support of EHS improvements.
• Ensure site operating guides are maintained and that site associate training is robust to ensure success.
• Develops and maintains a constructive relationship and dialogue between the site, the community, and local regulatory bodies as appropriate.
• Review all incident investigations, PHA’s, operator certification check sheets, annual procedure reviews, confided space permits and MOC documents.
Job Responsibilities – Human Resource Management
• Establishes employee performance expectations and ensure they are met throughout areas of responsibility
• Establishes and ensures implementation and adherence to training programs for operating personnel
• Aligns site practices with company polies, procedures, and expectations.
• Effectively communicates Hexion/Site objectives to associates and encourages employee involvement in team activities.
• Active involvement in recruitment of salaried and hourly individuals
• Provides annual performance appraisals and direct feedback to reports
• Models Hexion core values always.
Productivity/Cost/Finance
• Develops annual and multi-year budgets and plans, targeting year after year performance improvement.
• Managers and measure cost performance and takes corrective cost control action
• Develops, leads, and directs site productivity improvement programs and processes, to drive human and capital resource optimization.
• Monitor plant costs and explain adjustments and variances
Capital/Facilities and Process Improvement
• Manages site capital planning and spending to both reduce business and EH&S risk and improve cost and profitability
• Ensure site maintenance is adequate and appropriate to support business reliability needs and to maximize unit up-time
• Champions continuous improvement methodology usage across the site to reduce waste and variability.
Quality and Customer Satisfaction
• Uses statistical tools to monitor in-process and finished goods quality, as well as work process improvement activities
• Ensures timely delivery of quality products to customers
• Organizes and enables quality improvement efforts at the site, aligned with business and customer priorities.
• Ensures appropriate internal and external customer focus in daily activities onsite

Minimum Qualifications
• Experience in the chemical industry and focused experience with manufacturing products and processes in a PSM (process safety management) chemical manufacturing environment.
• 10 years total professional experience with 6 years in a supervisory capacity at a manufacturing site.
• Demonstrated Leadership experience, supervisory, and team building skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive positive business culture and safety culture changes.
• Experience with EHS to include working knowledge and practice of OSHA, EPA, PSM.
• Production/process optimization experience
• Skilled project manager with experience driving capital projects.
• Competency with contemporary computer/business applications (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
• Ability to work with and motivate peers and work within teams in a matrixed organization.
• Experience with Incuity, SAP, SAP Maintenance Modules, and Mechanical Integrity
• Experience in ISO 9000
• Demonstrates Servant Leadership
Education Requirements
- Preference for an Engineering undergraduate degree (Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, or Manufacturing). Considerable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
