Position Overview

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Microsoft 365 Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the administration, configuration, and management of our Microsoft 365 environment through coordination and technical oversight/work direction of our Level 3 support group and offshore managed capacity service team.  Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation, security, and optimization of the Microsoft 365 services delivered to our end users, enabling our organization to leverage the full potential of this powerful suite of tools. This individual will have a solid technical background within the entire Microsoft 365 product and services platform as well as an understanding of advanced administration leveraging PowerShell scripting. 

Job Responsibilities

 

Hands-on Technical Responsibilities: 

  • Microsoft 365 services technical subject matter expert 
    • Advanced understanding of Exchange online, Teams, Teams Calling, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Graph API, PowerShell scripting, Azure AD, Security, and other products within the M365 platform as part of an E5 subscription 

 

  • Operational Health of the O365 Services platform 
    • Ensure the health and security of major collaboration products within M365 such as SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive and Exchange 

 

  • Configuration and Maintenance of the 365 services  
    • Policy configuration, package configuration/deployment using integrated apps, Intune and Group Policy 
    • Provide technical oversight to ensure that development accurately addresses issues reported for other team members 
    • Review and promote productivity solutions and feature updates to internal clients as released by Microsoft and 3rd party vendors.  Ensure monitoring of feature updates by support team to provide adequate planning and communication time for changes which may impact our environment or users 
    • Manage and prioritize all escalated issues and activities, including testing, and implementation of system upgrades, enhancements, and bug fixes as it relates to current best practices 

 

  • General Responsibilities: 
    • Understanding of application support, upgrades, patching, transitioning, and decommissioning as it relates to Office 365 applications for internal clients and external partners 
    • Assess critical path and assist in implementation of any projects required 
    • Ensure adherence to documented processes & procedures and environment governance 
    • Understand capabilities and limitations of technical solutions in assigned area and provide expertise on current processes and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable work experience in a related field 
  • Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving 
  • 6+ years of experience in IT related field, with 3+ years of experience in administering Microsoft 365 platform at an E5 subscription level 
  • Experience with Release Management, Configuration management, Systems Integration, Quality Assurance and Testing, Requirements Gathering, and Systems Analysis and Design 
  • Experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, AD Connect 
  • Knowledge of LDAP, DNS, DHCP, Sites and services, user creations and current best security practices is preferred 
  • Experience with Exchange 2016 or higher, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and Teams Calling (integrated telephony), OneDrive, Exchange Online protection, Intune and Advanced eDiscovery 
  • Experience with MDM/MAM configuration and deployments, Configuration Manager, Conditional Access policy configuration is preferred 
  • Ability to articulate technical topics to non-technical audiences 
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills 
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate within a matrix environment 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office productivity tools 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Previous experience in a managed service or managed capacity environment a plus
