Position Overview
Note: This position is US based, location is flexible.
Responsible for developing and managing market strategies and activities that turn into profitable growth for the Building Materials Segment.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Market Plans:
- Working closely with the strategic marketing team, develop and execute long-term strategic market plans
- Create a growth pathway for new Building Materials segment and achieve established financial targets (? – Revenue or EBITDA?)
- Conduct thorough market research in partnership with the strategic marketing team to identify new growth opportunities
- Extract customer insights and translate them into actionable growth projects
- Foster collaboration with sales, marketing and product teams to accelerate innovation pipeline growth
Customer Relationships | Insights:
- Cultivate strong relationships with key Hexion customers and stakeholders in the Building Materials industry
- Monitor market competition, product substitution threats and regulatory changes
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices
Grow the Business:
- Lead cross-functional Building Materials Business Management Team (BMT)
- Oversee variable margin improvement opportunities
- Ensure financial targets are met
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders
Marketing and Business Development:
- Establish strong marketing and business development strategies and initiatives to scale and grow the BU with a focus on end-market customer needs and total cost of ownership
- Expand the core – innovate and expand offerings within the markets where Hexion currently competes
- Identifies new revenue opportunities and implement strategies to drive sales within the business unit
- In partnership with key stakeholders and the innovation team, steer the development direction of new go-to-market products and solutions with Customer Centric applications development
Knowledge, Skills, Attributes and Experience (KSAEs):
Knowledge and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Masters degree, preferably in chemistry or related field
- Additional degree in strategy or strategic marketing is strongly recommended/preferred

Experience
- 10 years of industry experience in the chemical space
- Strong financial acumen
- Experience navigating a matrix organization, driving alignment to build new growth platforms and/or implement business transformation projects
- Has managed and built teams to stand up a new business unit and drive growth and transformation
