Position Overview

 

Senior Analyst, SAP Finance & Controlling is a business facing IT associate that enables IT to be more proactive, responsive, and strategic service provider. The mission of the role is to optimize the business value delivered by the IT organization, orchestrate business solutions, and foster digital transformation in the areas of ​FICO​. The Senior Analyst, SAP Finance & Controlling will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing support of key Finance & Controlling processes in Hexion’s SAP environment in close collaboration with business counterparts.  

 

  • Possess a strong combination of analytical and technical skills and will work in a team role across SAP ERP and integrated solutions within Hexion. 
  • Possess a strong understanding of capabilities and limitations of standard SAP FI/CO functionalities and be accountable for configuration activities within SAP ERP FI/CO & 3rd party Finance applications. 
  • Identify opportunities to innovate, leverage new technologies for business solutions & design new solutions independently. 
  • Analyze and explore business cases optimizing the value of proposed solutions. 
  • Execute projects and enhancements as agreed with the business partners. 
  • Influence decisions about services: internal business resources, IT organization, shared services, and broker relationships with external providers 
  • Bring risks to the attention of leaders in business terms; advise on mitigation options 
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with the ability to work well under time pressure in a fast-paced environment 
  • Can handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision. 

Job Responsibilities

 

Hands-on Technical Responsibilities 

  • Facilitate the implementation and support of SAP ECC (Classic GL) & S/4 ​FICO​ to enhance business functionality and overall performance, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders in requirement gathering, design, development, integration, testing and deliver of SAP FI/CO solutions. 
  • Accountable for the following areas within SAP: ECC FI/CO module including General Ledger, Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), Profitability Analysis, Project System/Internal Orders and Asset Accounting, Accounts Payable, SAP Banking, Accounts Receivables & S/4 Group Reporting, Integration points between FI, MM, SD and COPA. 
  • Provide day-to-day support to business teams on existing Hexion SAP FI/CO functionalities, Troubleshoot and resolve system related issues by making necessary system configuration changes. 
  • Integrations to/from SAP to 3rd party Finance applications such as Concur, Blackline, Banks etc. 
  • Creating RICEF Functional/Technical Specification documents. 
  • Reconciliation processes using Excel. 
  • Leading SAP ​FICO​ support and project implementations across multiple geographic regions and teams. 
  • Responsible for design, configuration and testing of SAP business solutions & 3rd party solutions that interface with SAP FICO modules.  
  • Analyze the current business processes and scenarios and recommend/develop solutions to meet the needs of the business. 
  • Work with ABAP team to ensure programs and interfaces are developed in line with functional specifications. 
  • Possess knowledge and experience in project system/internal orders. 
  • S/4 HANA experience a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, MBA, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and eight (10) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience as an SAP Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or IT related role 
  • 8+ years of experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4 HANA including expert knowledge in FI/CO area. 
  • Leading SAP ​FICO​ support and project implementations across multiple geographic regions and teams. 
  • Experience working for or implementing SAP solutions for a Global/Multinational company. 
  • Strong analytical skills for complex problem solving & ability to articulate technical topics to non-technical audiences. 
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. 
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate within a matrix environment. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication skills
