About the Role:

As EHS Manager, you’ll provide both strategic and hands-on leadership for all Health, Safety, Environment, and Process Safety activities. You’ll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, drive continuous improvement in EHS culture and performance, and strengthen our Process Safety Management (PSM) systems for safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement site EHS strategy aligned with Hexion’s global standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement of PSM systems and safety culture.
  • Champion visible safety leadership, engaging teams at all levels.
  • Maintain and strengthen PSM frameworks (PHA/HAZOP, MOC, incident investigation, emergency response).
  • Ensure compliance with Victorian OHS and EPA regulations.
  • Oversee risk assessments, safe work practices, contractor safety, and behavioural safety programmes.
  • Manage environmental monitoring and hazardous substance control.
  • Deliver EHS and PSM training for staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Lead emergency response planning and crisis preparedness.
  • Maintain EHS documentation, dashboards, and performance metrics.

What You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, OHS, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ EHS leadership experience in chemical, petrochemical, manufacturing, or other high-risk industry.
  • Strong knowledge of PSM principles and regulatory frameworks (MHF, AS/NZS standards, Vic OHS Regulations, EPA requirements).
  • Demonstrated experience driving cultural change and EHS performance improvement.
  • Expertise in incident investigation, risk assessment, and contractor management.
  • (Desirable) Experience with EPA licence management, ISO 14001/45001, Responsible Care®, and formal training in process safety or HAZOP.
