Position Overview
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible to provide the day-to-day logistical and administrative support to the Logistics department. This position works as a liaison between site associates and/or departments and other Hexion support services.
Essential Functions
Provides support to Logistics/Production Departments/Supply Chain/Sales/Customers
- Create PO requisitions for rail shipments – Edmonton/Prince Rupert
- Create rail/truck bills of lading, confirm posted/unposted bills of lading
- Coordinate loading times for all inbound/outbound trucks with direct communication with various carriers and departments
- Communicate BOL/COA truck and railcar information to customers upon request
- Primary Spray Dry logistics contact for Sales, Carriers and Operations
- Receive Raw materials into SAP
- Lead inventory cycle counts for assigned materials as required
- Manage off site storage track – Phenol, MEA, UFC, Slack – rotate stock
- Site SME to prepare customs invoices
- Correspond with Regulatory compliance
- Prepare commercial invoice for each cross-border shipment
- Approve/not approve demurrage accessorial forms, assist with TMS – Demurrage and Non-optimal freight
- Provide MSDS’s for new product
- Maintain Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) daily, place orders and change as needed.
- Prepare shipping documents and source out LTL/full load carriers, request quotes for sample shipments
- Maintain carrier/customers/CN railcar reports and files
- Investigate and resolve all day to day production distributions within the unit
- Manage out of spec material by coordinating with Author and Supervisor along with appropriate documentation
- Work with Production Supervisors, Regional Scheduler and Logistics Supervisor to ensure production schedule needs are met
Quality
- Ensure NCR’s are entered in a timely manner
- Initiate quality incident investigations
- Participate in quality improvement teams
EH&S
- Ensure safety standards are met
- Active member of EH&S committee
- Participate in safety training and audits, including Alberta Transportation Rail Compliance
- Ensure all operator Preventative maintenance (PM) are completed and closed

- Reports directly to the Logistics Supervisor.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is recommended
- Experience with SAP and other computer programs
- Ability to work in Excel and expertise in Microsoft Office applications
Education
- Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft applications
Special Skills or Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal with team skills and comfortable working with people.
- Able to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
- Able to work independently and possess effective time management skills
- Possess Windows based computer skills with strengths in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

- Aptitudes: Perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately.
- Temperaments: Must have the ability to accept responsibility, perform duties under stress, adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
- Department Specific: May be required to operate (and be fully licensed to operate) a telehandler forklift, standard gas power forklift. All training for operation of these devices will be provided, as required, by Hexion.

If currently an employee of the Company, you must have current satisfactory work performance and in most cases, have been in your current role for 18 months.
