Position Overview

 

Perform all functions associated with loading outbound shipments and offloading inbound shipments as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

 

Safety

  • Attend all required safety training.  Follow all SOP’s and PPE requirements to work in a safe manner.  Maintain high housekeeping standards in all work areas.  

 

Quality

  • Follow SOPs to ensure product quality and avoid contamination.
  • Ensure that product is shipped to meet customer needs.
  • Follow instructions on picking tickets and SOPs to ensure product is properly strained during loading, orders are filled as requested, special instructions are followed.

 

Responsibilities

  • Unload raw materials – bulk liquids, dry van.
  • Maintain strainers, clean and replace strainer bags as required.
  • Load outbound tank trucks, sample, seal if necessary.
  • Stock supplies at scale houses
  • Properly dispose of resin solids accumulated from strainer cleaning as needed.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards at all loading stations and in all work areas.
  • Perform real-time data entry into SAP and AutoBOL, sign out drivers, supply placards as required, prepare shipping document packets for drivers.
  • Spot tankers for loading from reactors as necessary
  • Spot tankers for unloading by production as necessary.
  • Follow loading checklist recording all required information for tracking, record keeping and improvement. 

 

Regulatory

  • Understand and follow DOT, OSHA, EPA and other regulations.

 

Other

  • Complete other tasks as assigned by leadership.

 

Organizational Relationships 

  • This position reports to the Shipping Leader

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • High School Diploma
  • Entry level role
  • Must be able to drive semi-tractor and tanker and yard tractor in plant for loading and unloading
  • Physical: Walking, driving, standing, lifting 55 pounds repeatedly, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, fingering, talking, hearing, and seeing.  Ability to enter confined spaces and wear a respirator.
  • Aptitudes: Must possess the ability to understand the meaning of words and their ideas, as well as instructions and their underlying principles.  Perform arithmetic operations quickly and accurately and possess eye-hand motor coordination.  Temperaments: Must have the ability to accept responsibility, follow directions, perform duties under stress, adapt to situations requiring preciseness, and adapt to changing duties and responsibilities. 

Preferred Qualifications

 
  • Computer skills – must be able to learn and use several computer systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude a plus
