Position Overview

 

Work as part of a team to produce quality Formaldehyde products as defined by our customers and our company, adding profitability to our company. Function as part of a safe and environmentally-sound manufacturing team. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and rules. Responsible for all functions pertaining to the shipping and receiving of all bulk finished and bulk raw materials at the Geismar facility.

Job Responsibilities

 

EH&S

  • Proactively seek to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace.
  • Understand and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Participate in safety training and audits.
  • Maintain working area in clean and safe conditions at all times.
  • Issue and monitor Safe Work, Hot Work, and Confined Space Permits for maintenance and contractors.


Quality  

  • Ensure lab safety practices adhered to.
  • Perform analytical testing of in-process samples and finished products.
  • Support troubleshooting of lab equipment, as needed.

 

Production 

  • Responsible for the safe, efficient, & reliable operation of the  process to produce solutions in-specification. 
  • Report deviations from the production schedule and help perform root cause analyses to minimize future lost time.
  • Blend tanks.
  • Transfer product via pipeline.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished product.
  • Perform SAP transactions for the following including, but not limited to: materials moved from the warehouse; maintenance work notifications; store room requisitions, PI sheet corrections, inventory reconciliations, and others, as applicable.
  • Follow instructions, coordinate efforts, and contribute to teamwork by constructive interaction and professionalism to ensure safe, environmentally compliant, reliable, efficient, economical, and profitable plant operations.
  • Understand, support, enforce and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot issues with equipment to assist with maintenance operations and write work orders, as required, to address issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to perform mathematical operations quickly and accurately.
  • Troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use a computer effectively with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, manufacturer’s literature, diagrams or schematics.
  • Safety focus in prior jobs
