Position Overview

 

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Chemistry & Technology Manager provides leadership for product stewardship, raw material specifications, and product development across the company. This role ensures that products are designed, manufactured, and delivered in compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal requirements. The position serves as the technical authority for material chemistry, product performance, and product safety, driving both compliance and innovation.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Own and maintain raw material and product specifications, ensuring consistency, reliability, and compliance with internal standards and customer needs.
  • Lead product stewardship programs, including regulatory compliance, safety data sheets, labeling, and customer support on product safety and environmental matters.
  • Manage quality assurance systems related to chemical testing, standards, and validation, ensuring robust processes for product release.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, and EHS to maintain compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards (OSHA, EPA, TSCA, REACH, etc.).
  • Drive product development and improvement projects, including evaluation of raw materials, formulation changes, and performance testing.
  • Support customer engagement by providing technical expertise on product performance, specifications, and stewardship requirements.
  • Serve as primary liaison with third-party laboratories, regulatory bodies, and key suppliers for technical and compliance-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, test methods, and laboratory protocols.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to lab personnel and technical staff, fostering a culture of scientific rigor, safety, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, product development, or quality/technical roles.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and product stewardship requirements (SDS, labeling, chemical regulations).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Laboratory management and analytical method development experience preferred.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
