Role Impact

Lead a site where safety comes first, every day and without exception. As Site Leader in Moreau, New York, you own the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the entire facility, and you set the tone that keeps every associate, contractor, and neighbor protected. You will be visible on the floor, build a culture where people speak up and look out for one another, and hold the line on Process Safety Management, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance.

From that foundation, you run the business of the plant. You direct production and the operations workforce, drive reliability and maintenance performance, manage budgets and inventories, and deliver quality product to customers on time. You recruit, develop, and engage the team, coordinate with functions across the organization, and represent the site with the community and regulatory agencies.

This is a role for a leader who wants ownership. You will champion continuous improvement projects that reduce cost and variability, invest capital where it lowers risk and raises capability, and leave the site stronger, safer, and more competitive than you found it.

What You Will Do

Environmental, Health, and Safety

  • Ensure site compliance with all safety, health, and environmental laws, codes, and standards as well as Hexion policies, and drive the safety culture through high visibility on the floor, daily safety contacts, leadership of the plant safety committee, and continuous improvement of plant operating guides and associate training.
  • Follow Process Safety Management standards and hazard recognition practices, and work with EH&S staff to develop and implement programs, processes, and procedures that protect everyone working at the site.
  • Review all incident investigations, process hazard analyses, operator certification check sheets, annual procedure reviews, confined space permits, and Management of Change documents.
  • Identify and prioritize environmental improvement opportunities, promptly report environmental incidents through internal and regulatory channels, and maintain constructive dialogue between the site, the community, and local regulatory bodies.

Maintenance and Reliability

  • Implement and maintain the SAP Maintenance module, and ensure mechanical integrity requirements are met for site equipment and systems.
  • Investigate maintenance problems and apply structured problem solving, analytical tools, and teamwork to prevent recurrence and improve reliability and unit performance.

Productivity, Cost, and Finance

  • Develop annual and multi-year operating and capital budgets that target year-after-year performance improvement, maintain costs within approved budgets, and explain adjustments and variances.
  • Lead site productivity and cost reduction programs using Six Sigma tools to optimize human and capital resources, and control inventory levels and reporting to meet site and business objectives.

Capital, Facilities, and Process Improvement

  • Manage site capital planning and spending to reduce business and EH&S risk and to improve cost and profitability.
  • Champion continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology to reduce waste and variability, use technology assessment to improve process capability and yield, and ensure facilities and equipment support current and future production requirements.

Quality and Customer Satisfaction

  • Use statistical tools to monitor in-process and finished goods quality, organize quality improvement efforts aligned with business and customer priorities, and ensure timely delivery of quality products.
  • Manage and measure overall customer satisfaction with delivered products and services, and ensure appropriate internal and external customer focus in daily site activities.

People Leadership and Human Resources

  • Establish employee performance expectations and training programs, provide recognition and direct corrective feedback, complete annual performance appraisals, and develop associates to meet future capability needs.
  • Communicate Hexion and site objectives, encourage employee involvement in team activities, ensure effective coordination between work teams, and model Hexion core values at all times.
  • Lead the recruitment and hiring of salaried and hourly associates, align site practices with company policies and procedures, and monitor municipal, county, and state human resources legislation, recommending action when needed.
