Position Overview
This position supplies critical support to the FPD (Forest Products Division) Division and the FPD MI (Mechanical Integrity) COE (Center of Excellence), to execute business processes and current management system programs for electrical system design, sustainability and reliability. This covers over $1,245,000,000 in plant assets in North America.
The key elements of this position include but are not limited to:
- Provide specific subject matter expertise on electrical issues and approaches (Inspection & Repair Plans)
- Become an SME in the use of SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) & PS (Project Systems)
- Maintain and update capital plan to improve electrical reliability and process to sustain the completed plan. The overall electrical asset management strategy will be the responsibility of this position.
- Provide Global Leadership for the EIT (evaluate, Inspect, and Test) program of Hexion electrical equipment.
- Design spare part strategies for network spares for large motors, evaluate storage locations to support NA sites and change vendors as necessary to maintain adequate service on these motors.
- Maintain long term obsolescence replacement plan for aged electrical equipment. Continue to identify obsolete electrical assets and modify the long-term plan to ensure serviceable equipment.
- Leads and facilitates investigation of the more complex failures to ensure root causes are identified and corrective and preventive actions are taken.
- Responsible for teaming and facilitating the Management of Change process for electrical operations.
- Leads site operations and maintenance management with the development of processes and protocols.
- Has a good working knowledge of local codes and requirements. Understanding of Canadian codes and requirements would be an advantage.
- Provides documentation of standards and specifications for electrical equipment and maintenance to sites.
- Provide electrical support for major project constructability analysis and support major construction QA / QC and help maintain documentation history.
- Work within the MI COE and with site leaders, site maintenance personnel, regional project managers and EHS personnel and be accountable to execute programs and standards for electrical systems.
- Develops and approves electrical reliability PMs.
- Prepares performance reports for senior leadership to demonstrate progress and improved reliability.
- Can do cost analysis for new technologies and assist in valuing power saving initiatives.
- Support FPD sites by providing engineering information on electrical projects and site resources.
- Develops and maintains electrical equipment database.
- Contributes to team effort and goals by accomplishing related results as needed.
This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the US.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Work with a limited number of locations to execute the EIT (Evaluate, Inspect, Test) program as established for the year and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the area.
- Advanced working knowledge of NFPA and ISA codes.
- Know the local electrical regulatory requirements.
- Lead in working with site maintenance professionals to execute the PM plans for electrical equipment and systems and diagnose issues as they arise.
- Leads effort to identify required electrical network spares.
- initiate and maintain projects that support and improve the power systems
- Develop programs to maintain and improve the power systems
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- This position reports to the Director of Power and Automation.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- The Scope of Responsibility will Globally with a focus on North America initially.

Job Qualifications & Experience:
- Hands-on experience using SAP PM & PS.
- Influencing skills that allow this individual to work successfully in a matrix environment.
- Be able to manage, on a continual basis, sustaining programs within the MI COE.
- Must have a working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and practices.
- Must understand Engineering Documentation Management Systems (EDMS).
Special Needs/ Special Skills/Other
- Familiar with Microsoft Project.
- Familiar with Electronic Data Management Systems such as Momentive MOC, II, EPIC and AIMs
- Current PE license or willingness and capacity to acquire one

Minimum Qualifications
Job Qualifications & Experience:
- 7+ years of electrical engineering experience within an industrial setting.
- Must have good organizational and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
- Must be able to communicate in a virtual environment to a larger audience.
- Must be able to implement a global program and execute within the timeframe allotted across multiple sites.
Education:
- Electrical Engineering degree and a minimum of 5+ years of direct electrical engineering experience
Special Needs/ Special Skills/Other
- Must be able to operate large Excel spreadsheets and develop Powerpoint presentations.
- Advance skills in Excel are required and intermediate skills in Powerpoint are also required.
- Must be able to collect data and interpret it.
- Must have advanced computer skills.
- Travel 40-50% of the time.
