When you work for Hexion, you’ll join a team that is committed to operating safely and with integrity to build a more sustainable future for all – our associates, our customers, and the communities where we live and work.   This role will lead PHA’s HAZOPS and Safety Assessments as well as providing continuous oversight and assistance with MHF programs on both of our Australian sites, specifically ensuring that control measures are held to a high degree of compliance.


You will work alongside the reliability and maintenance team, coordinating the day-to-day maintenance activities ensuring the plant and equipment is operating to a high standard that meets company EH&S standards and statutory requirements with a high level of uptime.


Role and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Provide front line contractor management including on the job supervision, contractor compliance to plant OHS requirements (inclusive of PTW, LOTO, JSERA’s and Procedural requirements) and maintaining contractor inductions/training.
  • Assist with the maintenance of equipment, critical system registers, spare parts inventory controlling system, updating and maintaining all engineering drawings and site engineering procedures.
  • Schedule control measure testing to support MHF licencing and maintain effective records
  • Assist operations team with plant breakdowns outside of normal work hours and ensure timely return to production.
  • Administer the site CMMS system (SAP –PM) and maintain all electronic and hardcopy filing so as to be auditable by external regulators.
  • Record plant performance data as required for engineering purposes, safety, statutory, quality and cost modelling. Implement; record and publish WCM indicators for the site.
  • Assist with the development and on-going administration and management of Plant wide Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Assist in inspections, repairs & maintenance of the plant, to ensure compliance with MHF requirements (where applicable), minimal downtime & cost and maximise efficiency. 
  • Assist Site Engineer with project management and engineering for the site.
  • Assist to provide maintenance expertise and participation in EHS and Quality initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations, in addition to, identifying and implementing environmental protection opportunities.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:

  • Trade background with industry experience – Electrician, Mechanical Fitter or similar
  • Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, coordination and supervision of external trade personnel
  • Sound knowledge of operations in a regulatory environment, with some supervisory experience.
  • Proven track record working within strict Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly demanding environment dealing with conflicting priorities that require initiative, flexibility and adaptability.
  • Planning, scheduling and time/resource/priority management skills.
  • Proven aptitude to optimise resource allocation and continually seek improved efficiency including application of new technology/systems.
  • Motivated and professional with a positive outlook.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office PC applications and an aptitude to master complex plant specific computer systems.
