Position Overview

 

Independently monitor and operate all units of one assigned factory so that production targets can be achieved within applicable (HSEQ) guidelines.

 

Decision-making authority:

  • Revoke work permits;
  • In consultation: stop activities.

Key relationships:

Internal:

  • Replacement USSV;
  • USSV;
  • Team members.

External:

  • External contractors (maintenance).

Job Responsibilities

 

Execution:

  • Carries out operational (and relevant non-operational) activities within a range of operational conditions;
  • Is responsible for assessing equipment and process deviations;
  • Interprets analysis results and adjusts plant conditions (if necessary);
  • Monitors process equipment;
  • Is responsible for reporting during and at the end of a shift, including appropriate handover of responsibilities.

Safety:

  • Identifies potential safety, health, environmental and quality issues. Takes action under the supervision of Senior Operator or Head Operator;
  • Monitors and contributes to ‘Good Housekeeping’;
  • Ensures that contracted personnel work in accordance with prescribed work permits and takes action under supervision (if necessary);
  • Reports on third party activities in the units.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MBO, with a technical background;
  • At least VAPRO B fully completed;
  • 2 – 5 years of work experience.
