Position Overview

 

Position will support day to day operations through the execution of maintenance activities across the plant.  This includes completing assigned work orders and supporting production equipment reliability to minimize production downtime. 

Job Responsibilities

 
  • Installs, repairs, troubleshoots, and maintains mechanical equipment such as compressors, pumps, valves, fans, drives, bearings, hoists, conveyors, HVAC, etc. for the site.
  • Completes daily work orders as scheduled and assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.  
  • Utilize Production Management System to update work order status.    
  • Perform mechanical equipment installations in the field. Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation.
  • Rebuilds pumps (gear, centrifugal, diaphragm, vacuum) for the site, including alignment.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other condition-based maintenance work on equipment.
  • Proactively identify and report maintenance needs for facility improvement.
  • Respond to plant needs when on call during off hours. 
  • Assist with training of new Maintenance employees.
  • Actively support plant and corporate EHS programs and objectives and adhere to EHS policies, procedures, and standards.

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • 3 yrs maintenance experience. Chemical process industry experience preferred. 
  • Oregon State Millwright card preferred.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Familiarity and experience working on equipment used in the process industries i.e., Pumps, valves, tanks, compressors, generators, boilers, chillers, scrubbers, etc.
  • Process Safety Management related experience. 
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience around LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, high work, etc. 
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds. 
  • Experience working with all contractor trades.     
  • Forklift, manlift, and boom lift experience preferred.
  • Proficient at MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
  • Ability to work around chemicals such as phenol, formaldehyde, methanol, sodium hydroxide, lubrication oils, greases, and chemical cleaning agents.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.
  • Physically capable of working from heights, climbing step and extension ladders to access equipment, working from scaffolding and heights in excess of 50ft.
  • Bending and kneeling around process equipment for extended periods to conduct equipment rebuilds and repairs. 
  • Perform typical physical requirements found in maintenance such as repetitive pushing, pulling, and lifting motions.
  • Working in confined spaces, or awkward positions may be necessary for extended periods. (This could include sitting, lying on one’s stomach, back, or side, or leaning as examples).
  • High School diploma or GED required
