Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and driven Maintenance Coordinator/Planner to join our Operations in Tauranga, Mt Maunganui, New Zealand. This is a critical role focused on coordinating maintenance reliability programs, supporting plant uptime, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing processing environment.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to step into a role where they can influence operational efficiency, safety, and long-term plant performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day engineering and maintenance coordination in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Assist with capital works, process improvement, and contractor management
- Maintain maintenance planning systems (SAP CMMS)
- Coordinate control measure testing to support regulatory requirements
- Manage contractor safety documentation including JSERA and LOTO processes
- Support shutdowns, repairs, and maintenance projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget
- Identify and implement efficiency and cost reduction initiatives
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and production teams to drive continuous improvement
- Be able to lead and manage small site projects
- Ensure all activities are conducted in line with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements
About You
- Trade qualification with at least 5 years’ experience in maintenance planning, coordination, or supervision
- Experience within manufacturing or chemical processing environments (highly regarded)
- Project management experience
- Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance
- Proven ability to manage contractors and multiple priorities
- Strong planning, scheduling, and organisational skills
- Analytical problem-solving capability with a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience using SAP CMMS or similar maintenance systems
- Ability to read technical drawings (P&ID) preferred
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
